Stark Hunter
Born in Whittier, California in 1952, Stark Hunter (pen name) was an English teacher for 37 years before retiring from the classroom in 2017. He has written and published 16 books, which are available on Amazon.com and Barnes & Noble.com. His work has appeared in the Lothlorien Poetry Journal, SpillWords Press E-Zine, Silent Spark Press, Synchronized Chaos Literary and Art Journal, the Hong Kong Review, Slipstream Press and several poetry anthologies.
In 2015, fourteen of Mr. Hunter’s poems, from his anthology, Voices From Clark Cemetery, were set to music by Dr. George Mabry, former conductor of the Nashville Symphony Chorus, for his musical drama, Voices. The performance took place at Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee.

What inspired you to start writing?
After reading J.D. Salinger’s Catcher in the Rye at age 15, I decided to start writing my own stories. First it was short fiction, then later on it was poetry.

Can you tell us a little about your latest book?
My latest published work is not creative at all, but a collection of 27 musical playlists, going back to the 1950’s. For each playlist of songs, I provided information about the song title, the year released, the composer or performer, a personal critical assessment and personal memories for each title. The book is entitled: Mind Tavern- Essential Music Playlists for the Headphone Generation. It is a nostalgic journey to this Baby Boomer’s musical past.
