John Thompson

John L. Thompson was born in Tachikawa, Japan. He spent much of his early life traveling before settling in New Mexico in 1986. After a career in the trucking industry as a diesel mechanic and driver, he turned to writing, graphic design, and gunsmithing.

His fiction and artwork have appeared in publications such as Yellow Mama, Shotgun Honey, and others. In 2013, he founded Dead Guns Press and later became a cover designer for Barry Sadler's Casca: The Eternal Mercenary series, written by UK author Tony Roberts. To date, Thompson has also co-authored two Casca books: Casca: The Guardian and Casca: The Seeker.

Thompson is the author of Truck Stop, Monkey Wrench, It's a Lonely World, and Cold Hearts & Other Stories. He continues to write across multiple genres while designing book covers for authors and publishers worldwide.
