Q: What inspired you to start writing?
My Mother was an avid book reader and had read all the classics, Dickens, The Austens, Shakespeare etc. She was also a passionate devotee of poetry and her influence can be felt by me in the two collections of my poems that have been published (Curses & Verses and Reflections)

Q: Can you tell us a little about your latest book?
My latest book 'Traitors' is a complete change of direction for me from the sad but compelling published story about my dog 'Olly & Me' to a fictional tale of murder, intrigue, double-cross and plot twists that hopefully keeps the reader on the edge of their seats throughout.,

Q: How do you create your characters?
With 'Traitors', they virtually created themselves, the words just flew from my mind without any preconceived notions or even a plot!

Q: What does your typical writing day look like?
There is no typical day, sometimes I write for 2/3 hours, other times I don't write for 2/3 weeks, I am an inspirational writer so if I don't feel in the mood, I don't write.

Q: What has been the most rewarding part of being an indie author?
The joy it had brought to my readers.

Q: What’s one challenge you’ve faced in your writing journey?
The hardest thing is finding an agent, a good agent who believes in me and wishes me to succeed.

Q: Do you have any favorite writing tools or apps?
No, although my book does contain references to AI ( or in this case AAI) I only use a search engine for geographical guidance on the various places the plot is set

Q: What advice would you give to new or aspiring indie authors?
Keep trying, luck plays a massive part in the success of any book - I think JK Rowling was turned downed by several publishers!

Q: How do you handle book promotion as an indie author?
You have to employ professionals who know the market.

Q: What’s next for you? Are you working on a new book?
Yes, two in fact ! A follow-up to 'Traitors' provisionally titled 'Once bitten' and a new book called 'All that glitters' a sort of comedy/drama about someone finding a hidden fortune. Watch this space!
